I'm making a select few chapters available online for reading before I continue working on my novel Ahzrada again.
Frann Gray, a survivor of The Six Month War, started on Mars by the Earthling Conglomerate Government (IPR), took the first ship inbound to a planet with nearly identical conditions of those found on pre-exodus Earth. He spent the next two years of his life training on The Rose, an explorer class ship made explicitly for transporting supplies to colony sites. In a government issue bipedal tank, The Variya, he prepared for another mass colonization effort in the vain hope of finding a new life away from violence. Despite his desperate escape, the Six Month War followed him closely in the rear view mirror. Frann is thrown into another bloody war after a mysterious signal he caught on his Variya's radar crashed directly into The Rose.
But unlike the war that ravaged his home, the fight for survival doesn't come from the hands of other men, but nature itself.

Following the death of his best friend during a historic storm that completely decimated his small town, Jin Kinoshita spent the next eight years of his life wasting away doing minimum wage labor at a rundown fast food restaurant to make ends meet.
His dream of becoming a professional artist alongside his friend Leo was the only thing keeping him going, and without his friend to encourage him, Jin allowed all of his talent to slip away from him like sand in an open palm.
Racked with the guilt of losing his friend, and failing to capture anything he ever sought out for, Jin repeated a cycle of suicide attempts and desperate self harm rituals in order to rid himself of the pain of living a failed life.
This year looks like it's gearing up for the worst weather seen since the night his friend died.
The rain brings back a flash of memories, good and bad, back into the forefront of Jin's mind. During a strong downpour, Jin accidentally reunites with his dead friend's sister, Momo, who has since become a successful artist in her own right.
Jin finds his resolve to take a chance on his dream once more. With the help of his downstairs neighbor Connie and all of the people he finds himself suddenly surrounded by, Jin slowly starts to pick the pieces of his life back together so he find a semblance of the joy he once found in creating art.
Spurred on by friends, both old and new, they all tread the waist deep water together through their journey to recovery.
